The reason they are working is because the iMac is authorized for all of those accounts under (Store>Authorize this Computer).
I created a brand new Apple ID on another mac, downloaded a free app and copied it to the iMac in my wife's itunes account. The only way I could get the app to load on the iPad was to authorize the iMac to that new Apple ID. If I deauthorize it the app gets deleted on next sync.
kalex - are you working on an iPad 1 or 2 and is it JB?
Mine is not JB
When you did this with your friends iPad is that computer authorized to your apple ID?
Is it possible that some free apps don't enforce the DRM somehow?
I am feeling that this may not work after all:(

Any ideas how to get this rate up?
(5 other 2.4GHZ networks neighbours.)
i, too live in an area with lots of other networks around, causing wireless interference (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1365?viewlocale=en_US) for my network.
my solution (and recommendation to you) was to hardwire my TVs to my TC using powerline adapters (http://www.powerlineethernetadapter.com/netgear-powerline-adapter).
in fact, i have all my gear hardwired except my mobile devices.
edit: more on how to evaluate the relationship between signal and noise numbers here (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10329543&start=1).

I feel like a addict. I'll kiss a man for my jailbreak.
I know people are working hard to get it done, and there is no one who appreciates their work more than I.
There're creative ways to show your appreciation, kissing a man might not be enough motivation. Bust out some knee pads, then turn 'round, it ain't nuthin' but a butt ache; everyone cries their first time.
Take one for the team and git'r done.

Hi, need a little help from the web guru's.
So my site has a gallery page, with a bunch of images. I've used css to get border-radius, reflections, etc. The css reflections however don't render in all browsers, Firefox being the most important one. So as a graceful degradation I added a box-shadow to make the images look better in Firefox/Opera. Comparing Safari and Firefox/Opera, this works perfectly - reflection / no shadow in Safari, and shadow / no reflection in Firefox/Opera.
Google Chrome on the other hand, even though it uses webkit decides to render the box-shadow despite there being no -webkit- prefix. Is there any way to have the box-shadow display in FF/O but not in Chrome? The shadow kind of ruins the reflection.
The website is temporarily hosted here - costantini.mw gallery (http://f3-preview.host-ed.net/costantini.mw/Gallery/gallery.html)
While we're at it, the site is unfinished but some feedback on other pages and the design would be appreciated.
Cheers guys,
Stef

I've got one.
You choose from within the iTunes prefs what iPhoto albums to sync to the iPod.
You get the option to copy the full size image as well but the ipod needs to have disk mode enabled to do this (so you loose the auto mount / unmount).

I never really understood resolution independence. Can someone explain it in layman's terms?
A screen is made up of little dots called "pixels". A button is, say, 35 pixels wide. I just made that number up, but just pretend.
As screen technology advances, more pixels get crammed in per square inch, making for sharper graphics. Unfortunately, buttons would still be 35 pixels long. Everything would get smaller.
Resolution Independance means that the size of stuff on the screen does not shrink as more dots are added - instead, they simply become sharper, staying their existing sizes.
Understand?

I agree with the current naming scheme.
Would it be worth making an Analysts category rather than using a directory page? Then we don't have to manually update it every time a new analyst is added.
I think that makes more sense.

Sounds plausible, except for the delay.
Guessing Apple will re announce the white iPhone 4 on WWDC and compensate the delay with adding the A5. And hey, the black one will get it too. Sounds cheap, but anything is better than my good ol' 3G right now.

I used to have this wallpaper years ago, never saved it but did love it.
I even found an abstract version of it somewhere online where they got rid of the stars and the purple aurora area was simply purple shady lines..
I know it's on InterfaceLIFT, just search "orion" or something.

- iTunes 7 will confirm if you wish to re-download content, and has a backup utility for backing up your library. Also introduced is a feature called "skip count" which tells you how often you have skipped a song.
This is not new to iTunes 7. This has been in iTunes since practically version 4. Where did you get the idea that this was a new feature?
BTW, the iPod software update 1.2 for video iPods does not appear to give the new Advanced Search function to older 5G iPods.
no one seems to be pointing out that they got rid of educational pricing for iPods... that's a bummer.
It's not really that much of a bummer. The max discount you ever got was $30 (I think, not sure if you got more for a $399 model), but with the new models, Apple discounted the highest iPods by $50 instead. So if you buy at full price, you're still paying less than you would have with the educational discount previously.
I don't think the shuffles ever had special educational pricing, and I'm not sure the nanos ever did either.

Well I may just be a fool but I thought that all WD hdds had the same connector pins. I've just taken apart my mbp only to find the (SATA?) connector inside is a different type than the WD's.
I'm just curious is there something I was missing that should have warned me that this would happen? Is there a way I can modify the WD so that I can make it my internal HDD?
That's all I really want.
My MBP:
15 inch Unibody (late 2008)
My WD:
WD10TMVV
I think this is it but mine is black.
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=450
Thank you in advance!
On a side note this is an extremely solid external drive and I recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable terrabyte.
The 1TB and 750GB drives of that particular model are not industry "standard" SATA drives. That Micro-B connector is attached directly to the mainboard of the hard drive. Instead of having a SATA interface connected to a USB board, it just skipped the SATA interface. This saves cost for WD and means you cannot take this drive out of the enclosure and use it in your MBP.

Mine attracts dust as well. However, it feels good in my hand and does and an excellent job protecting the screen and case. I always wondered why not cover the scroll wheel? I guess it was b/c they want me to buy 2 iSkins. I will be buying when they ship. :)

Definitely get Galler2 (gallery.sourceforge.net (http://gallery.sourceforge.net)). Not only is the software awesome and theme-able, but the developers are very helpful.

Ah! True! In this case, I will put it down as poor translation from my native tongue.

Hi,
is there a program that automatically embeds the cover arts downloaded with itunes "Get Cover" button to the specific music files?
And is there a program that provides cover arts from a specific site you want to use?

i just checked, and it looks like if you go to iphone.org, the url no longer is redirected to "apple.com", but the url stays as "iphone.org" and loads apple's homepage. the hyperlinks throughout the page are also "iphone.org/ipodnano",etc. does this mean apple's moving to make iphone.org a real website?????
