I love the look of the iMac G4, but that's purely aesthetic. It WOULD work for my application, though (just Qlab > Mbox2 > mackie whatever board they have me use that show)
Fortunately, when I sounded the horn on ye olde facebook, a friend offered his G5 tower for free. All I need to do is supply a monitor, and I can definitely Amazon me a cheap flat panel. Probably the best possible scenario! But now of course I just want a G4 to put up iTunes visualizer and never turn it off =)
EDIT: Talked the the guy who is selling the G4 iMac, and we worked out a deal that ends with me getting the iMac- FOR FREE! I work at Disneyland, so I have a pretty hefty bargaining chip... So now my dilemma is solved. 2 computers, no money out of pocket. Interesting how some things work themselves out!

You do not get it. I never had any intention of deleting these files with out knowing what they were. This is why I created a thread entitled, "Safe to delete these files" hoping that someone here would know what they were. If my thread was called, "Is it a good idea if I delete these files even though I have no idea what they are" then your help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got the IceKey and like it. Much better than the "standard" Apple keyboard. The action is very "crisp". It's a bit like the keyboard of a Powerbook. I'd go with it. As I recall it wasn't that expensive either. Cheers

How many times did you try the jb and what were you using? Pwnage or greenpoison? Just because the jb fails once doesn't mean that it was a disaster. Try the jb again.
At this point im just frustrated. I changed the host file with this ip 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com Then I followed all the steps and got 4.2.1 on. When I went to jailbreak, I got it into DFU mode but the jailbreak failed. Now I just want to update to 4.3 but I cant because I dont remember what I changed and replace with this 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com. Anybody know the original text so I can update to 4.3?

Online translators are not very accurate with translating texts. It's much better to just pay a professional to do it for you.
As for the dropdowns, you could consider replacing them with "suckerfish" dropdowns that use only HTML and CSS and a little tiny javascript for IE.

What are you talking about? The first link gives an overview. The last link goes into great technical detail. You have to click the links and read more than just the first page.

Do you guys have other opinions regarding another good recording condensor for both vocals and guitar in the 100-200 dollar range?

i also would consider picking up a shure sm57. it works well on guitar cabs and for some vocal uses. (wouldn't be the first thing i reached for for acoustic guitar, though).

Im using an Intel 320 SSD in my MacBook Pro 15" 2010 and its amazing. The biggest difference is boot times and application startup times. I was annoyed when my MacBook Air with a C2D felt faster than my MacBook Pro with an i5, so i installed this new ssd and reinstalled the OS, now its the fastest computer i've ever used.
I chose Intel mainly because of the trustworthy brand and they seemed to be doing quite well with the X25 series. SSD's are certainly worth it, im never going to buy/build a computer without an SSD in future- its the best upgrade possible.

What's everyone's favorite CMS and what kind of CMS do you have? Recently I've been taking web development more seriously and have been working primarily with Drupal. I really enjoy Wordpress though and find it much easier to teach a client how to use WP3 compared to D7. I've never tried Joomla, and have been seeing what all the fuss is about RoR a couple years late :p.
My next personal project is a niche community site, trying to decide what would be the best fit. I know another drupal developer who has much more experience, but we don't know if it'd be the ideal platform for what we want to create.

Just called the Emeryville Apple store, and asked them if I could camp out there. They said they don't care but that I should check with Bay Street security. They gave me the number. The lady I talked to said that no camping is allowed on the sidewalk or street and police will be out that night. The time people can start lining up is at 7am. I called the Apple store on Powell in San Francisco and they said it no problem, no one ever gets bothered. Guess thats where I will be!
