that was my first test that I did because I successfully imported my outlook contacts from pc to mac address book.
After that mail didn't recognize the names but it did the email addresses.
So I added a name to the address book via right clicking the email address in the email sent to me and also by manually adding one in address book. Both still only find the contact via email address prediction.

Actually I believe what we were talking about was how much cheaper units can function as computer displays.
My 13" CRT can function as a display too. That doesn't mean it's going to give me good picture quality and high resolution. Cheap TV's are cheap for a reason.

I was browsing eBay ( looking for apple posters and stuff actually :o ) and come accross this auction. For anyone after a PowerMac for 961 thats pretty astonishing. It looks legit but there are a few things that could be a put off - the person selling is a new user (hmm ok we all have to start somewhere eh?) and the person is also asking for Bank Transfer only. Reasonable i guess (most other methods involve cost to buyer or seller) as long as the seller does not say 'Western Union' then it seems to be a pretty good deal.
However my spider sense is tingling, saying that it could be yet another Scam. It's unbelievable how many scams ive run into on eBay when i started looking for Apple products - they are cat-nip to scammers lol.
EDIT: lol nothing to do with this mac deal as such, but I was pretty supprised to find someone trying to sell a DVD-R with Tiger and Office 2004 on it for 26. Its quite funny.

this is not the original disk but 100% works the same.
Oh right so that would make it illegal lol. Trying to sell pirated software on eBay... gimme a break :p

Question: What's the difference between a tethered & untethered jailbreak? :p I don't know much about it.
Do you know what a tetherball is?
What's the difference between a tetherball and a ball? A cord\cable\string.
Tethered = when you reboot it has to be connected to your PC
Untethered = when you reboot it doesn't have to be.
You should google the question next time, don't be lazy.

The MacBook Air and the iPad are the future of portable computing. Thin, light, fast (SSD). Enough power to get the job done, not so much power you need 3 cooling fans and 3 lbs. of battery to do it.
It's not that the MacBook Air is evolving into a mainstream product. It's the mainstream that's evolving into MacBook Air-like products.
Exactly. This is a continuation of the dumbing-down (and I don't mean that in a bad way) of computing. Most people don't need a huge amount of storage or blazing-fast processors. They need a computer for tooling around on the Web, email, basic work tasks like spreadsheets and word processing, and fun tasks like photos and music. If a computer can do all this at a good price, with a very long battery life, and looks great doing it, then it's good enough. Apple was smart to strip out many of the expensive components in order to reduce the price, without reducing functionality for the average user.

are you using version 1 or version 1.0.1 of cablevision app?
Coleman and others - this temp sync will work and as a side benefit you won't be able to update in itunes :) I tried it few times with my friend and shared app works just fine. Only issue I see is CV closing this hole by disabling older version of software from accessing the network. until that happens your idea will work
Forgot one thing. There is no need to drive or go anywhere. This can be done remotely via teamviewer application. Its free and works fast.
Just need to know what devices are needed to make it work (Computer to iPad, iPad to computer or computer to computer)
Just want to be sure of what you did
Thanks

2)The nonsense you speak of is why Amazon is killing the iPad as an e-reader. Don't believe me? Go read the tens of thousands of comments about how hard it is to read a book (not a website....not an email...a book) on an iPad.
I know, right? And my telephone makes calls much easier than my iPad.
As for reading on the iPad, I love it. I didn't read a book on my iPad for the first 6 months I owned it. Now I don't ever want to pick up a real book again.

Yes, it should be coming from apple via VT, but who knows? I'd prefer that the middleman was simply cut out and you downloaded directly from Apple's website to the iBook.

Beyond that, I would try creating a new admin account (or logging in as one if you already have it) and using Software Update. It'd be an interesting test to see if the problem is relegated to your user or is a system-wide problem.

The new Apple TV has no onboard flash storage. It also has no USB port. How is it supposed to compete with those other devices? There's also no way it has the processing power to compete with the Xbox 360 and PS3. You add in the lack of any control other than the basic Apple Remote and you have little to no chance of a successful platform for anything other than video, music and pictures. I bought an Xbox 360 Arcade for $150, and you can get a newer model now or soon with a 4GB HDD and built-in WiFi for $200. You add a $10 Windows Media remote and you've got something WAY better than Apple TV.

Many of them will have inhouse teams to develop their bits and pieces.
Considering lead and production times, I would have also thought that large-scale holiday-specific artwork production would need to be signed off in June-August in order to accommodate any special repro processes and finishing... and then getting product to point of sale.
So, if this idea appeals to you, try aiming for next year and put together a lo-res sample sheet to try some cold calls with... but don't get your hopes up, there could be other more productive and lucrative ways to further your career.
Hi. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I too was thinking a lot of that type of work is probably done in-house. I suppose I could just make it a side hobby; something to help keep my vector skills sharp and maybe it will even yield some possible portfolio pieces? Thanks again:)
Sincerely,
Phil

What are the chances of seeing this on e.g. Windows anytime soon? It would really broaden the connections and usefulness of the quite neat piece of app. Anything new on this case?

The D-Link DIR-615 is 2.4Ghz only. One thing you could try is making the bandwidth just 20Mhz. It might change somethings. I've found that my own DIR-615 has range issues when it come to speed. Whether I'm far from it, connected via wire, or right next to it.

I dont know. Personally, it would be like spam to me. I wouldnt like it. Even if I signed up for it. I would rather it be a link to me. Plus, of course, if you have people like me that do plain text email only.
I just thought a link would be less invasive.
Guess, I am changing the context of the post....just what I was thinking though.

Did you verify by the times posted that more should have been bold? Is it possible that only 7 threads in that forum were updated since your last visit?
Yeah, its been doing it for some time. It's really not a big deal, its more that I just want to know why it is doing it.
I havent been paying attention to the "You last visited:" thing, I'll have to watch that and see what it is saying.
