well i use to charge through the wall but with the new ipods its little more difficult than that because i gotta go behind my computer and unplug the cable since the ipods use a new cable. it should take 3 hours to charge fully. if nots charging in that amount of time i would say go for the wall.

It's always funny to see stuff like this. The same person says:
"I think it will be out soon"
"I don't think it will be out soon"
"There's no way to know when it'll be out"
So how do you say you think it will, won't, and don't know? I'd recommend that if you don't have an affirmative or a negative answer, don't speculate. It's very confusing for those new to jailbreaking to see people who have zero ties to the developers whatsoever chiming in saying they think there will be a short term or distant term release. If you don't have FIRST HAND knowledge, don't speculate without providing evidence of how you came to make such statement.

Has anybody heard about the possible early opening of Apple stores tomorrow? Rumor is that they will open at 9:00am. The store at The Gateway wont confirm this though...
I have called multiple times. Every time they say the usual 10:00 PM opening. I plan on calling again later.

Hello! I just started the Windows Gaming on a Mac FAQ. Find it here:
http://guides.macrumors.com/Windows_Gaming_on_a_Mac_FAQ
It seems like that there is a limit on the amount of content that can be added to an individual page. I looked through the help guide, but don't see what I need.
I'm taking a block of text from a text edit document. When I try to copy and paste it into the MacRumors Guide, it does not appear. This is after I've all ready added a lot of text, hence the "cap" question.
Can someone verify that the amount of text on a page has a cap? And if it does, how do you get around it. Can you add related pages?
Thanks!

Hi, fairly new to the group.
I decided to change to apple affter borrowing my brothers Cube
ohhh now thats a classy looking thing.. :)
anyways, it just worked... after my frustration at windows crashing... for everything,
this just works!
so today ive ordered my first apple machine... and im wondering, have i made the right choice of mac for me?
i want it for graphic designing in photoshop, web design and the occasional audio recording using firewire...
I wanted a 17" powerbook for ages, but gave up on the idea as i though "do i really need to be that portable"
so then i though iMac? (knowing there was no way i could get a G5 AND screen - although ive been closly folowing the rumours beforehand...) but i figured that the 17" screen wasnt as big as the 17" i had been using on the Cube, it was just wider...
so i opted for the "Ultimate" G4 1gighz 1 gig ram eMac.
This has a bigger screen, still CRT flat (well basicly like the cube ive been using only with better specs and more ram)
i got this, airport extreem and also VPC 6 with win XP (i know ive gotta learn to let go) but anyways, ive herd that windows with VPC runs FASTER on a mac? is this true???
so what would you have gone for if you was me? did i make the right choice?
Matt

You don't need it you are correct. I'd need to do a comparison to really find out what the difference is. From what I've been able to find out it seems the active DI is best for instruments w/ active pickups like some basses & acoustic guitars. The guys from Radial say their units allow for a wider dynamic range if I understood that right....whereas some cheaper passive units clip off some portions of a hot signal. The J48 is both passive & active (via phantom power). I'm still trying to sort all this out.

You know the LG Chocolate for Verizon has that type of technology...
http://static.flickr.com/87/279913340_66258df476.jpg?v=0
You can't see them, but on the bottom left and right corners, there are touch sensitive buttons.
I tried it at the Verizon store.
Buttons you say eh? Hmm

http://www.javascript.com/ is a collection of copy and paste scripts, but it is interesting how some "problems" were approached by other people. You can learn a lot from analyzing javascripts coded by other people...

Impressed by iTV and want to buy one. Now all I need is a way to record TV programs on my Apple hard drive.

Looks like having a Google exec on the board is paying off. Googlemapping your photos is a fun diversion and makes for some great mash-ups. The handheld device sounds promising as well.

My macbook is starting to get slow every start up. I'm checking my Login Items and found these that I dont have any idea if its system related
StatusMenu (All Users)
CheckUpAlert
iTunesHelper
If I delete those would it mess up my system? And can there be another cause for it to start going slow?

I have been reading the last few posts about saving the 4.3.1 SHSH Blobs "before its too late" and I couldn't understand how it could ever be too late, after all, how can my iPad get updated with anything unless its connected to iTunes.
I looked at TinyUmbrella and it looks likes this only applies to 3G iPads.. Could someone confirm if this is the case? And if not, what I (as a non-3G iPad 2 owner) needs to do now..
Currently I am on 4.3 and am waiting for a working Jailbreak before I do anything else regarding firmware.
Jon
It applies to any iOS device.
You want to save your blobs in case you accidentally upgrade to an unjailbroken firmware and would like to revert to an older, jailbroken firmware. It's not 100% essential for everybody to do, but it's nice to have it as insurance.
If you want to save your 4.3.1 firmware, update to the latest TinyUmbrella (http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/) and do so soon. I'm not sure if Apple is still signing it.

and it will toggle them back to the left-column. It's cookie based and will remember your settings.

what would be the security problem?
No, you can turn it off normally. It's a security problem for some people to leave it on all the time.
Sorry I can't help with your problem though, but you should be able to turn it off.

Yeah, sorry. Those too.:)
What do you mean? Are you talking about Leopard? Leopard will work with Core 2 Duo, Core Duo, PPC, probably everything back to about a 1997 model imac.
However Leopard will only provide 64 bit support to 64 bit capable chips, that would be G5 PPC and Core 2 Duo only.
