There is no limit on the amount of money that a person can bring in. However if a person is carrying $10 k (this includes cash, travellers check, bank draft etc) or >5k in cash then that has to be declared at customs and person should go through Red Channel.

I think your only option would be to get your AP sent to you in Canada if you will not be able to get your H1 from the Embassy. The visa is what allows you to get in and out of the U.S and they cannot let you back in if you don't have the stamp.

I came to Montreal to have my H1 stamping done and am stuck here since 3/18. They told me they want to search the company and will call me back with in 10 days but no response yet.

I have a problem with my I-140. its has been denied. The I-485 frenzy was going on and the attorney is not responding. After follow up I relaized that I got a rfe to show 5 years exp. I have masters degree and 7 years of experience. my experience letter was missed, which had 5 years experience.
the uscis people interpreted requirement wrong as our labor requirement says BS+5 years or MS
They sent rfe for 5 more years despite me having Masters.
The response which my attorney had given was that he has MS and he does not need 5 years experience more to qualify.
I was not in the loop during this process. the web site is not updated too. i got denial last week.
After talking to attorney, he filed motion to reconsider with all the proofs.
its been 10 days, i have not received any notice of receipt yet.
how long does it take to get a receipt.
can i file i-485 now, since my I-140 is applied to reconsider? Is thrre any way out?

How you filled this much fast? You posted adds before you got PWD? My attorney is saying that we need to wait untill we get PWD to post adds
Well, I am not sure how it works but my attorney assured me that it's all taken care. Looks like the recruitment can happen prior.

You are counting one visa per person in EB3. Remember that applicant's family members too take away visas from these numbers. On an average it is considered as 2.5 visas per primary applicant.
Also, the last I remember, the country cap was 7% and not 10%, unless things have changed since then.

I did my three years diploma (polytechnic) and three years engineering degree (B.E.) after that and I had @ eight years of experience while I had applied for GC through EB2 category. I had no problem in getting my I-140 approval; so far I have not received single rfe.

I have been thinking about choosing between EB3 and EB2. I hold a Masters degree from US and have 2 yrs of experience. I am wondering whether to go in EB3 (which is very simple and easy to get with no scrutiny - SURE TO GET APPROVED) and wait for a very long time in the queue OR go for EB2 (which is more difficult and have to pass through all the scrutiny from I-140) and then wait, whose waiting time might be lesser than EB3's

Her H-4 is invalid once your GC is approved. But she will have some grace period to apply for I-485 if priority dates were still current. But since we do not anticipate the dates to move that fast and if she continues to stay for some more time, she will be out of status and subject to bars. Best option is to file for Follow to Join as soon as possible and may be leave the country for some time. Don't rely on this advice completely but consult a good lawyer as the laws keep changing.

Yes, for EB2 that will work. Only MS+2 or Only BS+5 will also work. But the prevailing wage would be different for each one of these.

And lets start am immigration office where we can have all our immigration works (doubtful) but the future immigrant works ata marginally cheaper rates with high quality of service. If we keep a no profit no loss mantra, it would be helpful to everyone and also it will make this organization very strong.
Lets discuss its relevance? What does the Core think about this.?
Wow! out of 20k, 300 people have signed up for monthly contributions. Here we are thinking about hiring a couple of attorneys for the whole org. Sounds ideal, but there are many reasons why applicants will still have to go with the lawyer, their employer picks.

I am also in same situation. My lawyer told me that he will file our application seperately without including each other as dependant. This doessn't make sense..... any input from others?
unless your PDs are very close to each other dont file independent. One will get GC first, other will be stuck for a while (unless you take the risk of withdrawing one ap and filing again when one person looks cloes to getting apprvoed)

H1B is a work permit and as a dentist she can't work without a license. So H1B can't be filed without a license as she fails to meet minimum requirements to work.
