I totally agree with you...recently I moved to CA and it took me close to 2 months before I had 3 offers...I can see it can be frustating, distracting but keep +ve and it will be rewaded.

Its been more than two months I applied for my H1B visa extension, it got approved and I received I-797 also but online status still show 'Application Received and Pending'.
Now I applied for Advance Parole and EAD, they have deposited the fee checks also but don't see any change in last updated date for AOS application... I wonder if they update status at all....

My contributions to IV includes Testimony before the MI Senate when MI state refused to issue DLs to temporary residents. I am a monthly contributor to IV, and have contributed to most of the recent IV funding drives. I am a Sep 18th rally veteran and recently visited Washington DC a few months back - in person - to lobby for some of the bills that are considered 'Hot News' today.
All this is nothing compared to what IV has given back to me as an organization. I was saved thousands of dollars due to July VB reversal. EAD helped me change jobs and leave MI in this tough economic downturn and auto companies inching toward bankruptcy. I just got my 2 year EAD today , and I thank IV for saving me hundreds of Dollars by getting EAD/AP period extended to 2 years. I don't know any other organization or person who has done so much for me. I am immensely grateful to be part of this movement.
It's my pleasure to start a volunteer group in the 'Volunteer State'. Hope we won't be short of volunteers :). It makes me nostalgic about the times MI chapter started as a group of few individuals and today boasts of 60+ members. Lets get organized here too. That's the only way to make our voices heard.

This happened with my wife case too. Company applied on June 1 , no update till dec ending , changed to premium processing as we have to go out of country got the approval in two days and copy in 7 days. I think its deliberate. But we are happy that we have it in hand. You cant do anything with this but rather give them extra 1000$ they want.

If you have maintained all your communications with the old attorney, file a Legal Malpractice lawsuit against him. You can check yellow pages and contact a malpractice lawyer. Usually such cases are on contingency basis.
It will not save your 485 but you can recover significant amount of money as compensation from that attorney.
For your 485, check with your attorney if an appeal can be filed. I feel you have a strong ground since it was CIS fault.

Why he should expect an RFE in a Month or Two ?
Any rational reason ?
One way of reducing backlog is by issuing an RFE and a possible denial. Most of the EB3 with very old PD I would say before 2004 there is a standard RFE for an employment letter, resulting in a AC21 or some chance where they can deny some cases.

Also, at this point there are some questions lingering around your 'consulting' agency. I'm pretty sure a 4 yr. degree from an accredited college/university is considered equivalent to BS here. I really have suspicions on the real cause that's being presented to you.
You may want to check if your agency is employing others and if so, get in touch with one of them and gather facts.

PERM Applied - 04/24/2007 - EB3.
Perm Approved - 08/14/2007.
I-140 E-filed - 08/16/2007. Got Online Receipt. Sent the required Documents to USCIS after a week.
I-485/EAD/AP - Posted on 08/16/2007. Included the Online Labor Approval Petition without signatures and Online receipt of I-140.
Received USCIS on 08/17/2007.
Waiting for Receipts.
Don't know whether it will be accepted or will get an RFE.

My checks cashed today, got receipts from back of checks...have 4 different receipt numbers, used it to check on uscis...
my concerns..
case was sent to nebraska though should've been texas as employer is in NY, so thought it would be transfered...it wasn't. it shows at nebraska

HI,
Iam also sailing in the same boat.i want to change my maiden name to married name now.Just about to file for i-485.My concerns and doubts are :-
- I need to send it by mail to sanfransisco and what if it gets delayed?
-Will name check be done on two names(married and maiden) and endup in delays and pending of my application?
-All my certificates,recent affidavits till now show my maiden name.But i got written in my son(usa born)'s birth certificate with married name as last name and maiden name maiden name itself.So will that create a problem?...
So with the above issues,can anyone suggest me if i can wait till I-485 approves or it doesnot matter if i change it now?If i travel to sanfransisco and visit consulate general in person and apply will they issue the new passport within the same day??

If i were you,I will prioritize what i want ?Filing 485 or a Married Name.If you want to change your name it can be done on any day after getting the GC ,after becoming a Citizen.

Finally, I am current now, I spoke to IO today again ( Again means I call them every month, every week atleast once & So far I got Nice IO's)
She said your case is in current processing time, has not been yet assigned to any officer. checked all the status NC/SC/FP, everything is clear, just waiting for an officer to be assigned. call back after 15-20 days If I dont get any response.
I wanted to know that what impact does one have for calling IO's multiple times.

some where i read that USCIS follow FIFO for 485 under normal conditions. so if that is the case irrespective of PD who ever applies 485 first whose application will be processed first right? i am not sure on this that's why i asked this question.

Hello everyone,
Today 17th August, 2007 my I-485 packet was about to reach at Texas Service Center and unfortunately when I track my packet it shows �Notice Left� on USPS site, they mention they will try to deliver on Next business day. When I called at USPS , one lady picked up phone and she told it was PO Box no so we cant deliver. It is available to them to pick up but the man from USCIS might pick it up on early monday morning. Now I am worried does that mean my mailing date is Aug 17th or Aug 20th.
SO now USCIS will accept my application or not ?? Please advise ? Any body has same situation ?
