I actually still put in my e-mail address from my old ISP when they don't actually have to e-mail me.
Look around for e-mail accounts though. I'd do a Google on that one if it were me.

This looks awesome. Bring it on apple. That'll fly off the shelves. Anyone think it might have some better PDA style features as well?

I wonder if we started pooling some money together as a bounty for the first team to jailbreak it, if it would motivate more people to work on it. I wouldn't mind throwing in $20-30.
Either way I know I'm going to donate some to whatever team puts their release out first, it's really cool that these guys put in all their free time to do things like this. I can't wait to play some snes games with the wii classic controller pro on my iPad :D
I hope superbrothers sword and sorcery is good, I just bought it and I'm hoping it's as good as everyone says it is.

I like the tabs and the mouseovers. I'm looking forward to the version upgrade too.
Should the times of stories shown under their titles include the time zone?

I wouldn't mind military time either.

Yeah, Office will stay. They said they are committed for at least 5 more years. Office is probably the only Mac software they develop and actually make a decent profit on.
VPC will continue on Windows-but not on Macs.

You will be constrained by the through-put of USB with an external drive VM.
That said, you could put a VM instance on an external drive and run it from there.
Alternately just store the VM on the external, and move it to the SSD when you need it.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate on a 9 gig VM using 512K of memory...so you may not need as much SSD space as you think.
Of course, gaming will change this pretty fast.

I have some original RAM from the Original MacBook. Could I use this in an iBook G4?
Wanna keep the old thing alive.
Thanks!

I agree with the current naming scheme.
Would it be worth making an Analysts category rather than using a directory page? Then we don't have to manually update it every time a new analyst is added.

So the previous "beta" releases on the Mac were just alphas? Interesting. How long has Opera 8 been in the making? I am surprised that they're already releasing it, but maybe it just feels short.
*downloads Opera 8.00b1*

The first alpha was posted on Jan. 7, so I'm not sure that this is a "short" job or anything. Opera for Mac snapshots (http://snapshot.opera.com/mac/)
First significant bug - can't install skins anymore. However, I can log into VersionTracker now.

This makes perfect sense. It's actually a very elegant solution. Expect to see it integrated into Aperature as well.
More and more cameras (and photographers) are getting into this GPS metadata thing. I've started to see GPS units that mount onto a camera's hotshoe and sync up to the photos with a cable.
It's great that someone thought of scripting a button that inputs that metadata into an online map system. It's a simple script for sure. Still, it save me from having to copy and paste coordinates into Google Maps.
I wouldn't count on this having anything to do with a new apple product. It looks like it is just an added function, increasing the user experience. That's the kind of thinking that makes OS X the great operating system we all know and love.:D

Not everyone agrees, do they? Many Mac "fanatics" prefer Word. This one prefers Pages.
I like Pages for small documents (<20 pages). It has very crisp text display and it is quite nippy in use. The exposed features are quite comprehensive in a single-user environment and the application is quite fun to use. I have yet to try Mellel's word processor however, that is meant to be very good.
It certainly doesn't have the quirks of Word, but it has its own quirks that can be very annoying. For example it wants to be Page Oriented, but then acts like a word processor within each Page, allowing you to have multi-page Pages (that the page template doesn't apply to). WTF?! I admit I didn't get iWork the upgrades didn't seem worthwhile. Hopefully iWork 2007 will be more tempting.
OpenOffice.org and NeoOffice/J are slow clunky embarrassments to open source. AbiWord, Gnumeric, etc, are far nippier (although the former is barely a word processor).
KeyNote is, of course, awesome. However there needs to be a KeyNote viewer application for Windows (and Mac), PowerPoint export isn't ideal, and QuickTime is a bulky tradeoff.

What exactly do you think people will be doing on a TV? Using CAD??! It's a fine resolution for movies, browsing, music etc.

I haven't found anything that works well for Windows. I would recommend that you give MacDrive a try or look a Paragon. Both are well maintained and if there is an issue have tools to help you repair the partition.

I can't really remember this happening before, but F@H has been trying for more than 12 hours now to download a new core (to me). I keep getting:
Error: HTTP GET returned error code 404
on every attempt to download the core. I've already tried kill the "fah5" process and starting it again, which did start the download attempts anew, but still no joy. Seems odd to be given a WU when the corresponding core seems to be unavailable. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I have the odd session of leaping around the living room with the kids on Adventures when I'm feeling energetic. They still play on Kinectimals too and love it. I have to say I'm quite interested in the PC drivers and SDK.
I went into GAME the other day and there really doesn't seem to be much more software available than there was at Xmas.
The Gunstringer (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/25/fifteen-minutes-of-the-gunstringers-gunslinging-gameplay/) looks rather good, so that'll be the next Kinect game I buy.
