If you can stretch your budget by another $50, the Canon SX230HS should be a great option. I have not used this model, but I have its predecessor, the SX210IS, and I love it. 14x optical zoom, GPS geotagging, 1080p video. The only thing I don't like about it is the low light capabilities, especially at the long end (although this is for my 210IS, not the 230HS, so they may have improved it a bit).
The S90 or S95 will almost certainly give you slightly better quality shots, but at a much higher price tag, and it lacks the GPS that you said would be nice. In the real world in normal light, and at close distances, you probably wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference.
Neither of these has a viewfinder. You'll be hard pressed to find any point and shoot these days that does. Micro 4/3's don't even come with viewfinders.
Here are some shots that my wife took with our SX210IS for reference. She knows little about the technical sides of photography and had the camera set to "easy auto" mode for all of these.

Ah, I see. Do you have an asking price, I notice you said make an offer, but what are you looking to get for it?
I don't really have an asking price, as I don't know what's a reasonable price. I know you have a 12" PowerBook. Trades? :D

I have four AKG C 1000 S made in Austria,Ten or fifteen years old now but still up the job, a great vocalists mike, my quartet used them in several different studios because they were aimed at singers.
Well out of date now, but AKG must have updated them they were so popular, either Battery operated or phantom power. I am in the UK.

I was working the early shift at Sydney International Airport that day. On the shuttle bus to the airport the radio announcer said a plane had flown into a building in New York, we all laughed because we thought he must have gotten his information wrong.
When we arrived at the airport there on the screens was the event unfolding, much to our horror. I recall as the morning progressed the news was being broadcast on all the TV's around the terminal. Everyone was sitting around looking pasty faced and flights were systematically being cancelled. No-one (workers or passengers) were speaking, it was surreal. However all the oriental passengers were buzzing around, shopping, eating and joking. For them it was an opportunity to shop unimpeded. It was like they didn't see the screens around them. Occasionally they'd look up and then would go on with what they were doing.

I used to play on 1.52 g4 mini with 512 ram. Hooked it up to a 61" HD tv. It ran, but really laggy in cities. Pretty much had everything turned down.

Well there's the clear Speck shell case.
I have the satin/matte black one on my Air and it doesn't add too much bulk/weight and it solves the hinge 'issue' (can't open with one hand easily b/c the bottom lifts up). Quite like it.
Haven't noticed any other similar cases yet (all the other 11" Air cases seem to be sleeves).

@kfred - good point, though if you are on this forum setting up VPNs, I doubt you even know how to use Optimum Online for email :)
Anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know and we'll talk, you can then Google my name (you'll find over 5,000 references to it) and you'll see I won't do anything bad with your credentials.
Thank you all and I hope someone helps me deliver the US E! for my gf :)

Hello. So what are people using to simultaneously record both a direct guitar signal plus an amp mic'ed?
I have a Duet, and I could probably do it w/ that alone although there would be latency issues. I thought about a simple A-B-Y splitter. They come fairly cheap but I am sceptical about noise & the signal.
Started looking into Radial DI boxes, does anyone have a recommendation?
Instead of dropping $200+ on a Radial unit (active) they also have passive ones for $99 or so. ART has a unit for $59 or so. Is a DI the best solution or is there something else?
I'm not interested in "re-amping" the signal after the fact so the 'high impedance box' isn't necessary. The Duet's 1/4" input is high impedance anyways if that makes a difference.
Here's a DI by Radial that was recommended for this type of recording:

I could never figure out what the problem was with the screen margins. Look how the last letter in "Marketplace" is cut off. This drove me insane when I first saw this image - I thought it was a beta screen. But this was how it shipped apparently. I've noticed the same thing happen in some of the WinPhone7 screen shots and product demos. Can anyone explain this to me? What were the designers thinking?

Hi,
I'm thinking about getting one of those dell 20" widescreen lcd's or even the 24" if it comes down in price. I'd like to use it as a companion to my 15"pb and also as a TV when I go to Law School.
If I have either: 1) a tivo or 2) a digital cable box
can I just plug either of those into the monitor and have a "TV"?
Obviously I don't have a tv tuner card with my PB...and would rather have the monitor be self-sufficient and be able to record show on my tivo/pvr when I'm out studying and still be able to hook up the PB when I'm home and do PIP.
Any suggestions? I'm lost when it comes to what's need to run a tv on a computer monitor!
Thanks

So I am using redsn0w and I checked install Cydia and change my baseband to iPad for the unlock but as I follow the directions on iClarified, I get to holding down the home button and then it says "fetching iPad firmware" and then it ends. Any idea why that is?

So if the rumors are to be believed and the next iPhone will simply be an iPhone 4 with a new processor, more memory/storage (64GB), and 8MP camera then it begs the question...what is causing the delay?
I'm aware of the earthquake in Japan I just don't think it would cause a 3-4 month delay of the product.
Thoughts?

If the battery is accepting a charge, it would generate heat as well as the charger. If it does not, then it migh be your DC-in board.
I think you are right, when the cord is in the laptop it does not make any heat of any sort and the noise is made by something which is inside the casing.
